1630 pop-up shoppe
ye olde boston, in a brand new way
finding a niche
For years we felt there was no gift shop that truly represented the best of what Boston has to offer. For the 20 million+ visitors to our city each year, the options for souvenirs were mostly mass-produced tchotchkes made in China. We recognized an opportunity to showcase Boston through a more authentic lens by creating a shop that would feature goods created by local makers, vintage collectibles from across New England, and our own unique products that couldn’t be found anywhere else.
fast turnaround
Leveraging our expertise in naming, branding, product design, merchandising, and e-commerce, we created 1630 (referring to the year Boston was founded) from scratch in just five weeks.
a unique experience
After a successful launch on Newbury Street the shoppe relocated to the corner of the South Market Building in historic Faneuil Hall. Customers who visited us from all over the country and the world were effusive in their appreciation of finding something truly special here.
